Nike x Jacquemus: This Year's Most Stylish Sports Collab Has Landed

We wouldn't normally suggest that fashion has much of a sway in the sporting realm. Function over form is the order of the day for most (within reason, of course). But if the Paris Olympics are anything to go by, style has truly entered the chat. Teams from around the world have upped their game, showcasing incredible uniforms that blend athleticism with aesthetics in a way we've rarely seen before. However, even putting the Olympics aside (hard to believe, I know), Paris has inspired yet another winning sporting event – at least in the fashion girl's calendar.

Nike has once again teamed up with Simon Porte Jacquemus and his eponymous fashion brand to create an unmissable collection that beautifully marries sport and style. This is the third collaboration between Nike and Jacquemus, and it's a celebration of both the city of Paris and Nike’s global portfolio of athletes. The collection is a perfect homage to Paris, blending Jacquemus' French roots with Nike's athletic prowess.

If you're still mourning the missed opportunity to snag the now iconic swoosh bag (trust me, I have had alerts set everywhere), this collection is full of covetable moments: reimagined tracksuits, t-shirts, statement bras and long skirt co-ords that feel distinctly minimalist and 90's. The third footwear silhouette, the Nike x Jacquemus Air Max 1, is a particular standout. It takes a Nike classic with its rounded, cubist Air unit, infusing Jacquemus’ branding and signature effortless style. And rejoice, the cult-favourite Le Swoosh bag is offically back, available in three new colourways and even hitting select Nike retail stores for the first time.

So how does Paris inform the pieces? The colour palette is a nod to Jacquemus’ French heritage, featuring red, white, blue, and a little silver for good measure. “When in Paris, the world simply feels different: more romantic, artistic and beautiful,” says Jacquemus. "[This] is an ode to the city I adore, drawing out all I love about this vibrant place and how those inspirations manifest in my third collection with Nike."

But, as usual, you'd better move fast if you want to cop any pieces from this collection – they're bound to sell out tout de suite. All eyes are on Paris right now, but Nike x Jacquemus is taking the gold.
